Alien:

Known from scientific literature only from one location in Limassol (Davranoglou et al. 2021). However, since then it has been collected from Limassol by J. Demetriou and observed in Nicosia by a citizen-scientist (https://www.inaturalist.org/observations/149968210).

First detection year
2017
Impacts
Unknown

Develops in seeds of Vachellia farnessiana, an ornamental plant that has become "casual" in Cape Aposotlos Antreas (https://www.flora-of-cyprus.eu/cdm_dataportal/taxon/08a0e370-a370-452e-a971-e8ee8271c3fd). As stated in Davranoglou et al. (2021) "the species can be tested as a biocontrol agent of invasive Acacia or Prosopis spp., the latter becoming recently naturalized in South Europe (Pasiecznik 2018)". However, no impacts have been recorded nor studied on the island.

Pathway
3 TRANSPORT CONTAMINANT - Seed contaminant – Seed
3 TRANSPORT CONTAMINANT - Contaminant on plants (except parasites) – Con Plant
3 TRANSPORT CONTAMINANT - Contaminant nursery material – CNM
Pathway detail

Found inside pods of Vachellia farnessiana in Limassol, close to the site of first record by J. Demetriou (Davranoglou e tal. 2021).
