One of the aims of the RIS-Ky project is to mobilise invasive species data for Cyprus, as well as contributing new information on species' distributions and impacts. One of the ways that we will do this is through the creation of a new online database for the non-native species of Cyprus. This will update existing databases, and become the one-stop shop for non-native species information for the island. We also expect that our compilation will update global resources such as GLONAF and GRIIS.
The basis of our new compilation will be the CYIAS compilation of Dr Kelly Martinou. See here for her report on the CYIAS compilation. The new resource will also incorporate information previously collected for DAISIE, and will allow experts to add species and species information as it becomes available.
