Habitat detail

"Specimens from Cyprus: Tsakkistra - Selladin tou Petrou near Tsakkistra village, abandoned vineyard, 1998, Hadjikyriakou, 3465 [2]; Tsakkistra, roadside, 1997, Hadjikyriakou 2705 [2]. It was introduced before 1950 and cultivated at Tsakkistra and Kambos villages, Lefkosia District, as an insecticide against an insect locally known as "siribidi" (possibly There simina ampelophaga ), which attacks the vines. Now it is well established in garigue, abandoned vineyards and roadsides at an altitude of 700-800 m and undoubtedly it is naturalized to Cyprus" (Hadjikyriakou et al. 2004).
