Pest of Citrus spp. "Infesting citrus, figs, apricots, Crataegus azarolus, other fruit. Very common, injurious" (Georghiou 1977); "very destructive to many kinds of fruit throughout the lower parts of the Island. Its attacks are most troublesome on citrus fruit, mandarins and thin-skinned oranges being particularly attacked. [...] Black mulberry, pear and peach appear to be prefered fruits during the summer" (Morris 1937); in house gardens affecting Citrus production (Demetriou pers. comm.)
