In agricultural land, roadsides, open spaces in pine forests, maquis and phrygana (Georgiades 1995).

Alien: Naturalized invasive. Noted as an escape near Nicosia (Division 3).
It is very possible that the species has been introduced for apiculture as it is known as an important species for bees. alternatively it may have escaped horticultural use (Georgiades 1995).
