Alien: Naturalized non-invasive. Commonly cultivated for fruit and ornament - anecdotal evidence and historical sources suggest it was introduced into Cyprus >2000 years ago.
Cultivated on the island since ancient times. According to Greek mythology it was planted on the island by goddess Aphrodite.
