Alien: Damp places and streamsides at 4000-6000' and probably introduced, locally common in Division 2 and apparently spreading. Now well established around Chionistra and Troodos Square areas in Pinus nigra ssp pallasiana forest.
Although reported as "naturalized invasive" no negative impacts are registered.
It is very possible that seeds of the species reached the area of British army camps in Troodos in mud on the soldiers boots or with their luggage (species common in Britain) (Georgiades 1995).
