Alien: Casual - seedlings found in Limassol city, germination probably facilitated by birds
It causes serous problems when planted on pavements due to its vigorous surface roots; not suitable in car parks with its falling ripe fruits in summer, which can be reduced with heavy crown pruning (Tsintides et al. 2002).
As the species is restricted to parks and gardens introduction pathways are indicated in case of possible/potential escape from confinement.
