On potato, radish, eggplant, tomato, rose, carnation, petunia, spinach, pea, Swiss chard, celery, pepper, orange, nettle, mustard, parsley, broadbean, tulip, Brassica nigra, Eruca sativa, Datura, Mentha, Tagetes, Jacaranda, Malva sylvestris, Calendula, Chrysanthemum coronarium, Taraxacum, Bougainvillea, Mandragora officinalis, Chenopodium, Alyssum, Anchusa, Capsella bursa-pastoris, Lycium barbatum, Antirrhinum majus, Robinia pseudoacacia. Also on sunflower (Georghiou 1977); In the S.W. coast, in particular, maximum catches never exceeded 0.2 M. persicae per trap per day, i.e. one tenth of the Dutch threshold or one fifth of the more stringent threshold suggested by Raman (1980). Yet, virus spread in our seed crops was disproportionately high, as indicated by average degeneration rates (range 5-11) which are much higher than those reported for the seed areas of England (Ioannou and Iordanou 1987).
